Hand-applied polished plaster wall finishes with the cool look and feel of monolithic stone provide the striking backdrop for BMW of Sterling, a premier car dealership in the Greater DC Metro area. The luxury specialist has created a stunning state-of-the-art facility, complete with a client café and coffee bar together with a feature wall of Armourcoat polished plaster, expertly installed by the craftsmen at Senza Finé.
With interiors by Goree Architects, a leader of automotive facility design, the finishes were selected for the plush customer area to reflect the quality of the cars and services provided. Specified in urban light gray the polished plaster perfectly complements the soft furnishings, with the reverse of the wall featuring recessed lines to create a panelized look.
Polished plaster is a natural mineral material composed of slaked lime and crushed marble. It is trowel applied by specialist installers to create smooth or finely textured finishes. Custom techniques, such as banding, stenciling and debossing add to the decorative effect.
